November 03, 1953 – Ludhiana, Punjab, India
June 05, 2025 – Calgary, Alberta, Canada
It is with great sadness that the family of Manjit Kaur Sihota of Calgary, AB announce her passing on Thursday, June 05, 2025 at the age of 71 years.
Manjit Kaur Sihota, our beloved wife, mother, sister, aunt, and naniji passed away peacefully on
Thursday, June 5. We have an unwavering belief that she was welcomed home by her father
Joginder Singh, her mother Ajmer Kaur, brothers Kuldeep Singh and Pardeep Singh, along with
many family and friends that she has missed dearly.
Her daughter, Manvir (Hartej) and grandsons (Nivaaz and Zaahar) will always be her greatest
pride. She lived for them, fought for them, and loved them fiercely. Her work ethic, fierceness,
courage, faith and wisdom are all embodied within them.
As the last member of her family, she continued to carry on that legacy by nurturing
relationships with her nieces and nephews whom she loved dearly.
Born on November 2, 1953 in Ludhiana, Punjab, India, the second child of Joginder Singh and
Ajmer Kaur, Manjit was a bright and dedicated student who pursued her education
passionately, earning a double Masters in History and Punjabi. She spent her early career
working at the Christian Medical College and Hospital for five years. She relocated to Canada
and married Kulwant Singh Sihota in October 1984. On September 5, 1985 they welcomed their
beloved daughter, Manvir.
She spent her career working at Alberta Health Services and Loblaws where she made
friendships that lasted her lifetime.
Despite experiencing such loss, she always found a way to carry on. Those who were fortunate
to cross her path, knew how strongly she valued her relationships and how deeply she loved
them.
There is no greater gift than that of time and that we are all so much more than our worst days.
Mom, Manjit, we love you and we will see you again. Until then, please tell those you join that
we miss them dearly and we are comforted you all are together.
