We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of Manjit Jaswal on May 23, 2025. Manjit, born in Narur India, passed away peacefully in Calgary at the age of 71, surrounded by loved ones.

Manjit moved to Golden from India in 1977 when he married Barb Jaswal, his devoted wife of 48 years. Manjit was a dedicated family man, and with Barb, raised 3 children. He is predeceased by his oldest son, Roger Jaswal, and leaves behind his daughter Aman Toor (Goldie Toor) and son Tony Jaswal (Alpana Jaswal). He was a loving grandfather to Jay and Harjap Toor as well as Humrie and Tripta Jaswal.

Manjit also leaves behind his siblings Harjit Minhas (late Baldev Minhas), Jaswinder Minhas (Saijan Minhas), Rajinder Saroya (Gurminder Saroya), Sukhpal Jaswal (Kuldip Jaswal), Lahkvir Jaswal (Jasvir Jaswal), and Bhajan Jaswal (Kulwarn Jaswal).

Having a large family and many friends made Manjit feel complete – he truly thrived being in the company of those he loved and cared for. He showed his love by taking care of those around him, and he was always ready to help when someone needed it.

Manjit loved to travel, his favorite destination being India, and he enjoyed being outdoors. He loved going for runs in his younger years, and for walks in the morning in his last years. He was a strong-spirited man who fought to maintain his health until his last days.
