Mark Wong passed peacefully on February 19, 2025, and concluded a remarkable 83-year journey that started in a rural farming village in Laos. He was a dedicated student and that enthusiasm led him to become a teacher in Pakse. Mid-life brought new challenges as he lost the ability to walk, but his determination never stopped moving forward. Immigrating to Canada in the early 80s was a new learning challenge that he embraced with the same resolve. While he was no longer a teacher by profession, Mark’s influence extended beyond the classroom as he taught his family to be resilient, confident, and independent. We learned so much from his life, his strength, and his quiet pride. He will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
