Martha Foster (formerly Kanarek; Stang) passed suddenly on January 23, 2022 in her longtime home city of Calgary. Her deceased parents were Anna and Stanley Kanarek. She is survived by her three sisters, two brothers, as well children Aaron Stang and Chauntel Antonello.
Martha’s final twenty five years of life were devoted to her job as a Manager with TCT Graphic Products and lengthy employment at Families First Support Services. Her iron clad work ethic was truly admired and her undeniable charm touched many, many lives.
Martha was a kind soul that would offer you the shirt off of her back, often placing herself last on the priority list. Her laugh and sense of positivity were truly infectious among all who knew her.
Martha spent her spare time with her family and fur-grandkids, beautifying her garden and yard, cooking and serving whomever she could, hiking, dancing, and taking trips to the tropics and mountains.
Martha will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery in Athabasca County later this year. Beloved mother, sister, and friend; her presence will be forever missed. Rest easy Martha.
A Celebration of Martha’s Life will be held at COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM & FUNERAL SERVICES, 11995 16 Street NE on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 3:00 pm.
Due to the city by-law all those attending in person must provide personal identification as well as either proof of double vaccination, or proof of a privately-paid negative rapid test result taken within 72 hours of service, or documentation of a medical exemption. Masks are also mandatory.

Aaron and Chauntel and families,
Our whole family was saddened to hear of your mothers recent passing. We enjoyed visiting with your family when you were just young kids. Your mom was always full of joy and always had a smile for everyone. That is how we will remember her.
God bless, Uncle Seb and Auntie Vera Stang
Marti was an absolutely wonderful lady. The shenanigans that occurred while working with her for the past three years will always be many of my favorite memories. Marti was always ready for a good laugh, and also ready to “push over” anyone who was being annoying. She was always showing me some new kooky dog video that we would have a good laugh over. Marti loved her furry friends, the teddy bear she gave my pup Sunny for Christmas is one of his favorite toys that we play with daily. She always kept a bag of the good dog treats at work for any customer’s pup, something we will continue to do in her memory. She will always be part of us here (she made sure of that, the picture attached is from the parking lot curb in front of her office :-). Love you and Miss you Marti…
Thank you so very much for sharing your memories of Martha, touched me deeply.
I saved the photo you shared, will treasure it forever.

My heartfelt thoughts go out to you in this time of sorrow. I appreciated her qualities of inner strength and gentleness. Take care.
Simply put, Marti was great. She could always help brighten your day by her sense of humor and her infectious smile. If you needed someone to talk to, listen or just vent about life, she would always give you her time. She was very generous and kind. Marti had a beautiful soul and will be forever remembered and loved.
To the family of Martha
I cannot begin to express how sorry I am for the sudden loss of Martha.
This must be such a difficult time for all of you.
Martha was a wonderful person and I will always cherish my memories of her.
You all are in my thoughts and prayers.
Hey Tel,
It’s been a minute.
I’m so sorry about your loss. Your mom is one of the most beautiful, caring, and inviting humans I’ve ever met. I’m very grateful to have seen her so many times years ago as she was always the sweetest and kindest lady to everyone.
You and your brother pop into my head often and I want you both to know I always consciously think to “send love” via my soul when you do come across my mind.
I hope you’re well.
Take care homie.
