Marvin was born in Montreal, Quebec, on April 12, 1944, and lived in Montreal until the summer of 1975 when he moved with his family to Calgary, Alberta. He passed suddenly on June 8, 2020 at the age of 76. He is survived by his wife Caroline, daughter Keri (Graeme), son Jeff (Erin), granddaughter Leigh, and sister Lorna (Nelson). Marvin was loved greatly, and will be missed by all his family and friends. His passions included model railroads, painting, watching the backyard birds, exploring the backroads of Alberta, and loving his pet dog Charlie. At Marvin’s request there will not be a service, his ashes will be spread in the mountains of Alberta by the family. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his name to the Make a Wish Foundation or the Alberta Children’s Hospital.

My deepest sympathies. He will be missed.
We have many happy memories of a younger Marvin. We moved into a new subdivision at the same time he and his family did and our children grew up together for a few years. Marvin was my card partner for many Euchre games. He definitely was one of a kind card player. I think we enjoyed the laughter more than the actual games.
Our condolences to Caroline, Keri and family and Jeff and family.
“Mr Merf” was the best back-yard neighbour ever! Sending deepest condolences to the whole family.
Sincerely, Shari, Chris, Brent and Scott Siedl
