Mohinder Kaur Bhullar

Mohinder Kaur Bhullar

On Monday, February 3, 2025, Mohinder Kaur Bhullar was called home to Akal Purakh Waheguru, where her beloved husband Jagir Singh and much loved grandson Manmeet Singh now have her in an eternal embrace.

Born in Lyallpur Pakistan on January 13, 1924, to parents Sohan Singh and Gurmej Kaur Samra, she is the fourth of eight brothers and sisters. Mohinder’s memory of leaving Pakistan during the partition was as clear as ever. Settling in the Amritsar region of India, she married Jagir Singh Bhullar. Together they raised five children, Baljinder, Jatinder, Rajinder, Harjit, and Hardish. Their nieces and nephews received equal care and affection from them.

On August 29, 1980, Mohinder and Jagir joined their son Baljinder and his wife Sukhvir Shergill in Calgary, which would be their home from then on. Their family grew with Jatinder’s marriage to Davinder Rana, Rajinder to Surinder Chahal, Harjit to Sukhdev Lail and Hardish to Yadwinder Sekhon. Her fifteen grandchildren and their respective spouses, and nine great-grandchildren became her entire world. There was no mistaking she had her favourites among the group!

Mohinder was guided by the love of two things; faith in Waheguru and love for her family. We are blessed to witness a life long lived and well lived. As she returns home to God, we are reminded of how much we miss Manmeet, but hold on to our belief that these two souls are together with Waheguru.

Taatee vaao na lagiee paarabreham saranaiee॥
The hot wind does not even touch one who is under the protection of the Supreme Lord God.

Chaugiradh hamaarai raam kar dukh lagai na bhai॥
On all four sides I am surrounded by the Lord’s Circle of Protection; pain does not afflict me, O Siblings of Destiny.
