In Memory of Amratlal Rambhai Mistry
September 10, 1935 (Matwad, India) – December 13, 2023 (Calgary, Canada)
Amratlal Rambhai Mistry passed away on Dec 13, 2023 at the age of 88 years young. With his wife and daughter by his side, Amrat passed peacefully.
Born to the late Rambhai Sukhabhai Mistry and the late Jumnaben R. Mistry, Amrat embarked on a journey to Canada in 1959 at the age of 24, seeking a new beginning. He and his wife were instrumental in sponsoring and assisting numerous Gujarati families in their settlement in Canada.
Amrat’s legacy is carried forward by his devoted wife of 60 years, Jashumati, sons Kiran (Rashmita), Kishor (Jaymala), daughter Jyoti (Alex) and grandchildren Keisha, Maya, Millen, and Jaiman. Also survived by his siblings Laxmiben (Kalyanbhai), Narsibhai (Niruben), Kantibhai (Pratibaben), Gireshbhai (Bhanuben). He is predeceased by brother Jamnadasbhai (survived by Doreen), and sisters Paliben, Hansaben (Daiben).
In lieu of flowers a donation can be made to the charities that he was passionate about supporting throughout the year. Calgary Food Bank, Calgary Drop-in Centre, and various Indigenous People charities
