Mr. Darryl Andrew Solomon

December 3, 1968 – December 23, 2022

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Darryl Andrew Solomon, at Peter Lougheed Centre Hospital with his loving wife Lisa, daughters Kottah, Danni (Deanna) and Kottah’s partner Levi on December 23rd, 2022. 

Darryl was born on December 3rd, 1968, in Thunder Bay, ON. Darryl spent a portion of his life in Victoria, BC and surrounding lower mainland, where he met Shane and Renee, his childhood friends. On Darryl’s journey in life he had four beautiful children. In 1996 Darryl reunited with his loving wife Lisa, whom he went on to marry in 2010. 

Darryl was passionate about his career that he started in 2006 with Trican Well Services as a sand hauler. He went on to work as a sand coordinator, which he took immense pride in and made many friends along the way including Barry Taylor, Wayne Switlyk, Peter(Indian) McCullough, Matt (Millhouse)Dawson, another friend Darryl made along the way is Bill Kaine. 

After a brief time home in Thunder Bay the family continued their journey to Hinton, AB, then on to Edmonton, AB where he worked for Bulldog Trucking. In 2016 the family moved to Calgary where Darryl continued to work with the company up until he became sick and was admitted to the hospital. Darryl was admitted with multiple infections with complications which resulted in a coma leading to his death. It was Darryl’s wish to be cremated and laid to rest in Fort William First Nation cemetery. 

Darryl’s love of his life was his 69’ GMC. He loved fishing, traveling to Mexico, his love for movies was beyond compare, as well as his love for the Vancouver Canucks, watching them live or on TV. Darryl had many loves including his animals, soup, eating out and taking selfies. 

Darryl is survived by his wife Lisa, children: Son Darryl Jr. (Kristin), Daughters Deanna(James), and Kottah (Levi). Grandchildren: Tessa, Lucas, Ryleigh, and Emma. Father Phil Tremblay (Bea), Mother Lorraine Solomon. Brothers: Leo, Sheldon, Mark, Phil, Kamon. Sisters: Mandy, Shannon, Reba, and Amber. Sister in law’s Crystal (Rob Frasca) and Cindy (Dave Lankinen). Darryl is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. 

Darryl is predeceased by George(Sluggo) Solomon(2001), Son Joshua Abraham(2001), Norman Holman(2012), Charlene Shields(2015), Sharon Hainstock(2017), Morris (Moey) Solomon(2017), Dorothy Comstock(2017), Daniel Shields Sr(2018), Leo (Jiggsy) Bannon(2019), Greg Johnstone(2019), Roger Charlie(2019), Alan Hainstock(2019), Daniel Shields Jr.(2022), Rachelle Johnson(2022). 

Cremation has taken place, a service will be held on Friday, January 6th at St. Ann’s Church, 126 Mission Road, Fort William First Nation at 11:00 am followed by a luncheon at the FWFN Community Center.
