Don Staten passed away peacefully with family by his side on Thursday, June 22, 2023 at the age of 77 years.

He was born in Fort St. John, BC to Gwendolin (nee Davidson) and Jim Staten. After graduating from Drafting School in Spokane, Washington, Don worked for the City of Calgary as a Draftsman and finished his career working for GardaWorld.

Don is survived by his wife Donna, daughter Karen (Kevin) Trudel and grandson Mason Trudel, Karen’s mother Cheryl, brother Earl (Lorna) Staten and their children Allison and Chad Staten and Chad’s children Nash and Austin Staten, step-granddaughter Stephanie and her daughter Nyah and numerous special cousins and their families. Don also leaves to mourn him his sisters-in-law Bernice (Gordon) Schetzsle, Carol (Rod) McCuaig, Janice (Dale) Shield and their families. Don was predeceased by his parents and his stepson Darren Scheible.

Don will be remembered for his great sense of humour and his joke telling.

At Don’s request there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers anyone wishing to do so may make a donation to the Alzheimer’s Society online at www.alzheimer.ca in Don’s memory. Don’s family would like to thank the staff at Newport Harbour Care Centre for their exceptional care.
