September 1, 1957 – September 22, 2022

It’s with a heavy heart that I announce the passing of my brother Doug Fiander who passed away suddenly at his residence in Calgary on Thursday, September 22, 2022 at the age of 65.

Born on September 1, 1957, Doug was the only son of Inez and Jack Fiander (deceased).  He leaves behind his son Dan (Alison) and daughter Poppy, his friend and ex-wife Lisa, nephews Jim (Courtney) and children Cole and Elle; Adam (Laura) and children Bodhi and Sadie and myself his sister Joan along with our many relatives.  

For those of us that knew him we will remember the funny, kind, adventurous and talented man that he was.  Doug had a love for music and especially playing the guitar.  He would jam in our kitchen for hours but he had a true love and passion for photography.  After studying with Ansel Adams and working at Nikon he produced some beautiful photographs some of which are hanging in homes today.  

So today I say goodbye to my “little brother” and hope that he is at peace, in “The Arms of the Angels” and forever in my heart.
