It is with great sadness that the family of John (J.J.) Bartley of Calgary, AB announce his passing on Monday, January 2, 2023 at the age of 48 years.
J.J. was born on Friday, December 13, 1974 in Calgary, AB. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness, generosity, love of cars and music (thanks to his father), his collectables, and Salvador Dali artwork.
J.J. is survived by his much-beloved son, Chase J. Bartley; his cherished mother Joyce Bartley; and adored sister Kerri Anderson (Webb Anderson); loved by many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews who are still with us; as well as by Alycia Barabash – although they were no longer together, he will always remain in her heart. J.J. was predeceased by his father Jack A. Bartley who passed in October 2009.
His family asks those who knew him to celebrate his life by making a donation in J.J.’s name to a mental health charity of their choosing. Please hold dear his memory in your hearts by remembering and talking about the joyous times spent with him.

J.J has been a part of my life for 24 years. Early on, we shared our lives and we shared a son. Although we parted ways, we were still friends and we were still parents. All I had ever hoped for him, was to find happiness. J.J will always remain in my heart and I know that I will see him when I look at our son. I will remeber his face in 2003 when Chase was born and I will remember his face in 2021 when Chase graduated High School. He was so scared and so proud.
J.J, although you are gone, I am thankful that you are at peace.
Thank you for the condolences to very one who will miss “J” John as much as I and his family does.
