Mr. Kevin “Coop” Francis Cooper

Mr. Kevin “Coop” Francis Cooper

It is with heavy hearts that we share that our brother, Kevin Francis Cooper, known as Coop to many, left us on February 10, 2025.

Born on January 8, 1971, he was the middle child of Judy and Len Cooper and brother to Karen and Wayne. Beyond his immediate family, Kevin’s path was shaped by Sandra and Carl Daurie. Kevin grew up and lived in Ellershouse , causing a bit of mischief along the way with his partner in crime, Mary, giving both Judy and Sandra a grey hair or two. The bigger the hill, the faster the bike, the more likely he was to try it.

Kevin moved to Calgary when he was 25. He loved hunting, camping and spending time in nature. He worked as a cabinet maker and could make anything out of scrap wood, a talent that was self-taught and appreciated by anyone who was lucky enough to get a custom piece of work from him.

He was someone who could find a bit of fun, if not a little trouble, wherever he went. Kevin could talk to anyone about anything. Animals and children were naturally drawn to him as they knew he was a gentle soul.

The true love of Kevin’s life was his dogs; first Princess, then Jade and finally Clyde. All three will have met him at the other side of the Rainbow Bridge with wagging tails and kisses as only pitties can.

He is survived by his sister, Karen (Ellershouse), brother Wayne (Prema) (Halifax), niece Vanessa (Halifax) and his Farm Family (Delacour, Alberta).

Kevin will be met in Heaven (which will likely look a lot like a dog park), by his parents, Judy and Len Cooper, and aunt and uncles, Dennis (Betty), Joan (Terry). His mother may or may not be holding a wooden spoon out as he is arriving far too soon.

Special thanks to Tim and the Farm Family that loved and supported Kevin in the past few years.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to an animal rescue of your choice or an organization that supports mental health and addictions.

A private gathering will take place in Alberta and a public celebration of life will take place at the Ellershouse Community Hall (429 Ellershouse Road, Ellershouse, NS) on Friday, February 28, 2025 from 2pm to 4pm.
