It is with great sadness that the family of Darlene Firth of Calgary, AB announce her peaceful passing on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 at the age of 73 years.
Mom loved birds, well… except for magpies… not too fond…
She was especially excited in the spring and looked forward to seeing the robins. She even noted their progress in her calender!
One year some robins decided to make a nest in the FAKE TREE on her deck.
What a great delight for Mom to watch directly out the window from her table them gathering, building, nesting, laying eggs, hatching , the mama & Daddy feeding the hungry mouths and then flying the coop.
I told her how our Father-God in heaven loves to give us the desires of our hearts because He loves us so extravagantly and wants to show us how much He cares even in the detailed things that are important to “us”! He speaks our heart language. In my mom’s case… it’s through His creation of birds.
I said: “let’s pray and ask God to bring the robins back next year. And HE DID!” Year after year & sometimes two batches in one season!
That’s the goodness of God & His amazing LOVE

Cherie-Lynn,
Thinking of you and Arlen and all of your family during this time.
Love, Shelly your very far away friend
Your momma was a beautiful sole and now even more beautiful as she has entered into the rests of her beloved Jesus 💕 alongside the glory of her eternal father God. You were the expression of Gods mercy and grace with each moment you had with her. I watched how you loved on her, ministered to her and then graciously brought her into the family of God…….that’s love 💕.
She was such a lovely lady here and I know she’s now gone through “the heavenly gates “ welcomed by your other momma’s for all eternity.
I met Darlene right after I met her brother Harvey – May of 1972.
We hit it off immediately and became great friends and more like sisters rather than sister-in-laws after Harvey and I married.
Darlene was a wonderful person who had a big heart. She was generous, fun-loving, caring, helpful, warm, funny and loved a good time with friends and family.
Darlene worked at Shipley Phtotos when I first met her. Then she moved over to work at Canada Post and was there for the balance of her working life.
She was born in Calgary and lived in the NE family home for many, many years, even after she met the love of her life Byron. Darlene and Byron were married in 1978 and enjoyed many happy years together. They enjoyed camping times with friends and visits at 24D (our name for the family home) whenever anyone stopped over. Their house was always open to friends and family.
Darlene had the joy of reuniting with her beloved daughter, Cherie-Lynn, whom she had the remainder of her life to spend many wonderful times with. This made her an instant grandmother to Tasha, Aaron and Jessica. All of whom she adored and loved to spend time with them when they could. Darlene also become Mom to her step-daughter Debbie, and ultimately her partner Heather and then grandmother to three more delightful grandchildren, Yazmine, Tia and Isaiah, all of whom she loved to see and spend time with when possible.
Darlene is predeceased by her beloved parents, Ewald and Myrtle; by her beloved brothers: Melvin in 2009 and Harvey in 2022. She loved them all and missed them greatly. Darlenes’ beloved husband Byron is currently residing in Glenmore Age Care and she can rest in peace knowing that he is being well taken care of in her absence.
May you Rest in Peace and in our thoughts forever.

you wrote. It came from your heart ❤️ and your loving knowledge. All of what Mom appreciates &
you knew her.
