It is with great sadness that the family of Gail Landon of Calgary, Alberta announces her passing on Tuesday October 31, 2023, and the age of 71 years.
She was a woman who lived with a zest for life and passion centered philosophy for living life to the fullest. She always exhibited a tremendous care for people. Whether you engaged with her in the field of education, volunteer work or simply friendship, no one could escape her energy. Her love of life, her simple joy in everything around her. Her love and excitement for whatever she embarked on was infectious and we all caught from her. You could not spend time with her and not be inspired by the person she was. Even through her illness, she embodied grace and was so full of gratitude for the life she has lived and the love she has shared.
For many years there has been a song that we have known as Mom’s Song, this song has always held true, but even more so now.
So, when you are in your garden, sitting at a water’s edge, hiking a trail, playing with a child, raising a glass of wine, painting a picture or roaming a jungle….whatever and wherever you are, know that there is an “Angel Among Us”
Flowers are gratefully declined. For those who wish, memorial donations may be made to the charity of your choice or the Canadian Cancer Society.
Thank you,
The Landon Family

Gail was a person of quiet but incredible influence. Within days of working alongside of her as her assistant principal, I knew Gail and I would become fast friends. We did.
I cherish many memories. So many. Preparing for and participating in the Women’s Nike half marathon in San Francisco. The book club in which the restaurant chosen for discussion was as important, if not more so, than the book read. The hikes in Panorama and Fairmont. Kayaking in the Creston Valley. Glasses of wine raised. Games played. So many conversations in which I was left in awe of Gail’s deep insights and thoughtfulness. Gail’s last gift to Brian and I was to help us plant our flower garden. I am trusting that the rose bush she planted will live on for years in her memory.
In both friendship and career, Gail touched so many of us, in a very profound way. We will miss her dearly.
Condolences and love to Everett and all of Gail’s family.
Such a beautiful soul ❤️
