April 8, 1964 – January 24, 2023
It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Leslie Joan Beaumont on January 24th, 2023, at the age of 58 years. She showed such strength and grace throughout her battle with cancer and now it is time for her to rest and be at peace.
Leslie believed in making many happy memories, whether it was through creative couples’ Halloween costumes, matching PJ sets at Christmas, or playing cards and board games with the family at the kitchen table. Her adventurous spirit was evident through her love of slo-pitch, golf, curling, fishing, and water skiing – all enjoyed with friends and family. In the past few years, Leslie poured her heart and soul into the creation of her dream “happy place,” a lakehouse in British Columbia. Many stories, laughs, and drinks were shared around the firepit and at the tiki bar. Leslie will be remembered by all for her strength of spirit, dedication to her family, and the way she found joy in the little things, like her toes in the sand or a new gluten-free baking recipe.
Leslie is survived by her husband Darin; children Krista, Stephanie (Everett), and Darren; her parents Eileen and Laurie; her sister Sandra (Daryl) and brother Dean; as well as many life-long friends.
Leslie was always more worried about the people she met who were going through their own cancer journey, and would do everything she could to help those who crossed or shared her path. To show support for Leslie’s cause, we ask in lieu of flowers for donations to be made to breast cancer research at Canadian Cancer Society (https://cancer.ca/en/ways-to-

Crossed paths with Leslie many times through our curling years – Mixed, Ladies’, Juniors. A great teammate, opponent, and fun to be with! So sorry to hear of her passing. Deepest sympathies to Darin and her whole family.

We want to express our condolences in the passing of Leslie to you Darin and to the rest of the family. I fondly recall Leslie referring the cottage at the lake as her “Happy Place” and we often would see her out with you fishing all hours of the day. I recall working along with her on the Council and I never saw such a dedicated and hard worker. I also had a great time sitting around your firepit with others having a few drinks on a hot summer’s evening as well as swapping stories. Leslie will be sadly missed and fondly remembered.
