October 19th, 2023 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with great sadness that we, the family of Nalini Sharma of Calgary, Alberta announce her passing on October 19, 2023, at the age of 56 years.  Nalini was born in India; she was one of four siblings; she was the second youngest of the four. She completed her bachelors in 1987 in a Bachelor of Arts from SD college in Ambala India. Then the following year she migrated to Canada from India with her entire family. For a couple of years, she worked miscellaneous jobs and then went back to India in 1992 to get married to her now husband Munish Sharma. Then she returned and found a job at the Calgary airport where she worked from 1998-2013. She also welcomed her one and only son Sahil in February of 2003.  Nalini was a kind, loving, and caring individual who knew how to live life to the fullest despite any sorrows. She was the kind of person that you could become friends with within just a couple minutes of talking to her. She had a way to make you feel special and welcomed into her life.  Despite Nalini’s struggles she never failed to have a smile on her face, she was always happy and encouraged others to be too. She had a kind and pure heart and that was showcased through each and every relationship that she had.

Nalini loved to do many things, one of which was cooking. She was known for many of her dishes and would often go out of her way to make them for us. She loved playing games on her phone, such as angry birds and candy crush, she had reached the highest of levels that one could with those games. She also made sure that she was well connected with each of her family members and did this through calls and facetimes. She loved to travel, one of her favourite places to go was Edmonton and explore the shopping mall as well as new food places that Edmonton had to offer. She went to Edmonton at least once a month.

Although Nalini is no longer with us, she is survived by her husband Munish Sharma, and her only son Sahil Sharma. Both of whom miss her dearly and love her more than words can describe. Her memories will live on through these two, who will never let them die.

Nalini is also survived by her mother and sisters; Savitri Bali, Neelam Kalia and Seema Sharma; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, their families, and friends who love and miss her dearly.
