Mrs. Tracy Lynn Gale-Hansen

March 6, 1965 – September 29, 2022

Tracy passed away peacefully on September 29, 2022 at the age of  57 years, surrounded by her loving family. She was a caring wife,  mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She will always be  remembered for her generosity, compassion, artistic talent, love of  nature and passion for helping.

Tracy was born in Red Deer, AB to Ruth and Hillard Gale on March  6, 1965. During high school she met the love of her life, Gavin  Hansen. They were married for 35 years and together created a life  full of love and laughter for themselves, and their children. More  recently, Tracy and Gavin became grandparents and it quickly  became apparent that these little humans were their true pride and  joy.

Tracy truly knew what mattered in life and how to bring out the best  in people. Her advice was always valued among friends and family  and she always knew what to say when somebody needed guidance.

Tracy was best known for her green thumb, love of life and desire to  help. She worked for many years as an educational assistant but  outside of work you would almost certainly find her in her garden or  out at the family cabin where her family and friends share many  fond memories. On the occasion when you did not find Tracy in the  garden or at the cabin you might find her effortlessly drawing  another breathtaking idea or cooking an amazing meal. She was  always dreaming up her next big project at the lake or making plans  for a future cut flower farm. Tracy truly enjoyed life as she shared  many nights laughing with friends over a glass of wine.

Tracy will not only be remembered for her generosity but also for  her compassion. As her children started lives of their own, Tracy and  Gavin opened their hearts and home to many children through foster  care and their family continued to grow.

Tracy’s presence will be deeply missed by all those who were lucky  enough to know her. She is survived by her beloved husband Gavin,  her children Jared (Rhian), Jenna (Valdomiro), Nathaniel, Tyssen,  Kevin and her cherished grandchildren Alistair, Tomás and Abigail.

Tracy is also survived by her brother Mark and sister Pam (Brian)  and will be lovingly remembered by her large extended family and  many friends.

In lieu of flowers, and to honour mom’s heart for giving, memorial  tributes may be made to the Calgary & District Foster Parents  Association, https://cfpaonline.ca/

Gavin and family. I met Tracy almost 40 years ago. I was immediately struck by her good nature, energy, and ease with people. Back then, she was passionate about her art (well, and Gavin). I can’t imagine the loss of such an incredible person. My warmest thoughts are with you.
