It is with great sadness that the family of Veena Sharma of Calgary, Alberta announceher passing on March 16, 2024 at the age of 68 years.

Veena Sharma was born in Amritsar, India on October 06, 1955 and spent the first 20 years of her life in the beautiful valley of Kashmir. Born in a Kashmiri Pandit family, she was raised with Kashmiri traditions. She married a Punjabi Hindu family and was blessed with two kids. She spent her married life in Amritsar, India.

She moved to Calgary, Canada with her kids and husband in 2019 from Amritsar, India.

Veena Sharma loved her children and was very passionate about providing them with the best education. She was a very good cook and her art of blending Kashmiri cuisine with Punjabi tadka left us with memories of some great tasting food.

Veena Sharma was a proud grandmother of three boys, whom she loved the most.

She was a very family oriented mother who loved going on vacations with her husband and kids. She loved to dress up in bright colors and red was her favourite.

Veena Sharma is survived by her husband Kuldip Sharma, her daughter Himi Sharma, her son Himanshu Sharma, her daughter in law Neha Sharma and three grandchildren Yuvraaj, Nimansh and Namish.

Veena Sharma is also survived by her two siblings Ramesh Babu and Poonam Kaul who live with their family in India.

Veena Sharma is predeceased by her mother Krishna Babu and father Saligram Babu who also resided in Amritsar, India.
