Naidu, Muni Rathanam
December 27, 1935 – September 27, 2019

Muni Naidu passed away on Friday, September 27, 2019 at the Rockyview Hospital at the age of 83 years. Muni is survived by four sons and their families: Munsami Naidu (Rupa) of Nadi, Fiji, Subram Naidu (Savitri) of Nadi, Fiji, Babba Naidu (Rosie) of Calgary and Silba Naidu (Sunita) of Calgary; seven grandchildren: Sonu, Meenu, Pravina, Ashna, Neha, Alvin and Edwin; Nieces Aliya, Esha, Manno, and many other nieces and nephews. Muni is survived by one sister Guddi in Austrailia.

Muni was predeceased by his wife Parwati, a son Rajen Naidu, four brothers and two sisters.

Muni was born and raised in Tavua, Fiji. He married his sweetheart Parwati and they moved to Navatu, Ba, Fiji where they raised their family. Muni worked as a bartender and then became employed with Westpac Bank until immigrating to Canada in 1994. Muni and Parwati moved to Edmonton for a period of time before settling in Calgary. Muni worked for Smed International until his retirement. Watching Bollywood movies and Hindi Series on TV were favourite past times. He also enjoyed going for walks and more than anything spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be dearly missed and remembered as a loving father.

A Funeral Service will be held for Muni at Country Hills Crematorium & Funeral Services (11995-16 Street, NE, Calgary) on Wednesday, October 2, 2019 from 1:00 to 3:00 pm.
