April 14, 1947 – July 27, 2022
This is the story of S. Nirmal. S. Virk. He was an amazing, wonderful man who was loved, is missed, and
will always be cherished. Nirmal’s story started on April 14 th ,1947 in Sheikhupura, Pakistan where he
was born to S. Anoop Singh Virk and Mrs. Amar Kaur Virk. After the partition in 1947 he moved to village
Sonkra in Haryana with his parents and then later to Delhi where he spent his childhood, grew up and
made many lifelong friends. He completed his education in Delhi. He enjoyed his life to the fullest and
the wonderful memories he made with his brother and three sisters are cherished by all.
On June 28th, 1971, he married Mrs. Darshan Kaur Virk and together they had a wonderful happy
married life and had four children who were adored by him. He was a devoted husband, a loving, doting
father and above all a great human being. He migrated to Canada in 2010 to join his children and
grandchildren who brought the most joy to him. He was always there for his children, his friends and
family and helped them through their ups and downs and taught them to enjoy very moment life has to
offer. He suffered from medical ailments which impacted his life, but he fought against all the odds and
never let any obstacles deter him. He was strong willed, friendly, caring and dedicated to his friends and
family. Every day he would chant path, do ardas and practiced the teachings in his life and taught his
children and grandchildren the same values.
He was so adaptive to all the changes in his life and his resilience and determination was inspiring. His
unconditional love for his siblings, his friends, his children, grandchildren, his entire family is cherished
and revered. We feel blessed and privileged for his presence in our life. On July 27,2022 he left us all for
his heavenly abode. We miss him so much and will cherish his memories.
And the story lives on….
