It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of Parkash Kaur Mangat, at the age of 78 at Foothills Medical Centre on August 14, 2019.
Parkash Kaur Mangat was born on April 10th, 1941, in the village of Therekeh, Ludhiana. Parkash Kaur married Kirpal Singh Mangat in 1963. She and her family immigrated to the city of Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1996, where she lived a joyful and fulfilling life.
Parkash Kaur is survived by her husband Kirpal Singh Mangat, three children Gurjit Kaur Herian, Onkar Singh Mangat, Ramanjit Kaur Grewal and daughter in law Manjit Kaur Mangat. Parkash Kaur leaves behind eight grandchildren: Jyoti, Priya, Gurpreet, Taranpreet, Parmpreet, Jasman, Jaskaran, and Jaswinder.
Parkash Kaur had a careful eye and passion for knitting; knitting garments such as sweaters, blankets, and scarves for her loved ones. She had a contagious spirit and was pure of heart. She was always laughing and bringing joy to those around her, young and old. She was full of love and was always finding ways to show it, especially to her grandchildren-usually by pinching their cheeks and taking them into her warm embrace. The passing of Parkash Kaur leaves a void in the lives of her loved ones that can never be filled, however there is a comfort in knowing that she passed peacefully surrounded by love from those closest to her.
Funeral Services were held at COUNTRY HILLS CREMATORIUM & FUNERAL SERVICES, 11995 – 16 Street NE on Sunday, August 18, 2019 at 1:00 pm. Followed by a prayer service which will be held at the Dashmesh Culture Centre – 135 Martindale Blvd NE.
