It is with profound grief and heartbreak that the family of Quasar Sto. Tomas Evano of Calgary, Alberta announces his passing on April 1, 2025 at the young age of 19 years old.
Quasar, firstborn of Quay and Nova, was born in Dubai, UAE on November 18, 2005. He was Kuya (older brother) to Qyrie. They moved to Canada in August 2011.
Quasar spent his kindergarten years in Apple International School in Dubai. He continued in Canada at Daniel Woodward Elementary School in Richmond, BC. He then studied at St, Rita and St. Bede Elementary Schools then went to St. Helena Junior High. He graduated in 2023 from St. Mary’s High School. He was taking up B.S Chemistry at the University of Calgary.
Quasar had a passion for friends, family, adventure, travelling, sports and most importantly music. He listened to all genres from hip-hop, rap, techno, punk, rock, heavy metal, alternative to all the way to classical, He was a musician who played the drums, bass and the flute, but it was drumming that he lived and breathed for and was forming a band with his friends. He loved drawing, dancing, singing, rapping, bouldering and skateboarding. He was a deep thinker who wrote poems and songs too.
Quasar will be deeply missed for his crazy big smile, warm personality and insatiable hunger to learn and be great at many things, He was a great confidant to many friends. He may be gone too soon but he will never ever be forgotten.
Quasar is survived by his Dad Eric Quay, his mother Nova and his sister Qyrie. He is also survived by his grandfather Vic Sto. Tomas and grandmother Marietta P. Evano as well as numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
