Ramesh Chandra Satnaraine Singh was born on May 19, 1948, in Nonpareil, Guyana. Growing up in the village of Triumph, he laid the foundations for a life filled with determination, hard work, and devotion to family. He married his beloved wife, Mezan, in 1972, marking the beginning of a lifelong partnership filled with mutual support and love. In 1974, Ramesh moved to Canada, seeking new opportunities and embracing new beginnings, with Mezan by his side, their partnership a source of strength and happiness throughout their journey together.
Ramesh was a dedicated father to his three beloved children: Lallita, Anand, and Sherisse, and an adoring grandfather to his six cherished grandchildren: Saphala, Yasmina, Mateo, Melania, Lucas, and Nathan. Family was his greatest joy, and his favorite moments were spent traveling and sharing memorable vacations surrounded by those he loved.
Professionally, Ramesh’s journey began as a chemistry teacher at Central High School, followed by his role as the familiar voice of Radio Demerara, touching countless listeners. After migrating to Canada, his unwavering commitment and tireless work ethic propelled him through a remarkable 30-year career at CN Rail, beginning as a labourer and ascending to the role of director. Since 2005, he served as Vice President and General Manager at Chief Medical Supplies, where he continued to lead with vision and integrity.
Outside of his professional accomplishments, Ramesh was widely admired for his meticulous care and pride in maintaining his pristine lawn and vibrant garden. His dedication was evident in every blooming flower and perfectly manicured blade of grass.
Ramesh Chandra Satnaraine Singh will be remembered as a deeply respected, loving, and generous man whose legacy of family devotion, professional excellence, and joyful living will continue to inspire all who knew him.
