November 1953 – January 2023
It is with great sadness that the family of Ranjit Kaur Premi of Calgary, AB announce her passing after a long battle with cancer on Thursday, January 26, 2023 at the age of 69 years. Ranjit Kaur was born to S Tarlok Singh and Gurmeet Kaur on November 10, 1953. She was the second daughter out of six brothers and sisters. After her schooling, she was married to S. Sewa Singh Premi of village Dhirpur, Jalandhar District, India, in May 1968. Because he was in working in the Indian Navy, Ranjit accompanied her husband to Bombay, India soon after marriage and sailed on board an aircraft carrier to Goa. She remained a homemaker throughout her life and looked after the care and education of her two sons, Dharminder and Harjinder. She was a perfect mother and in addition to
their care and education, she also taught them family values. Ranjit had a very pleasant life and got the opportunity to accompany her husband and visited several countries in Africa, Europe, and North America and finally settled in Calgary Canada in 1997.
She was a very strong woman and had been fighting cancer for over a year and was winning. As she was getting better, a strong infection took her away from her loved ones. She was a noble soul and will be forever remembered and missed by her husband and her family and friends.
Ranjit is survived by her husband S. Sewa Singh; sons Dharminder and Harjinder;
daughter-in-laws Jagdeep and Harleen; her five her grandchildren Devroop, Simranjit,
Harkeerat, Sherveer and Guneet, and her mother Gurmeet Kaur, all of Toronto, ON.
Ranjit is predeceased by her father S Tarlok Singh.
