With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Reynaldo Lafrades Rebalbos on February 4, 2025, at the age of 70. He leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and dedication
to his family and friends.

He is survived by his devoted partner, Lalaine, and his children: Ian Mark (Wendy), Aileen (Patrick), Cathleen (Noel), Reynaldo II (Tasha), and Maria Agnes (Michael); as well as his stepchildren Angel (Jon) and John Miguel. He was a proud and loving grandfather to Joshua (Rachel), Ethan, Andrea, Julieta, Jeremy, Harmony, Alicia, Raphael, Tristan, Cairo, Andre, and Ace.

He will be deeply missed by his siblings: brothers Ding (Kate), and Arnold of Calgary; Roger (Beth), and Jesse (Jeanette) of the Philippines; sisters Yoly (Rey), Leny (Job), Merce (Russ),
Amy (Ruel), Marie (Dave) all of Calgary, and Noemi (Gene) of Texas, USA. He also leaves behind many cherished nephews, nieces, and friends. He was predeceased by his parents, Antonio Sr. and Lydia, his brother Antonio Jr. (Meldy), andhis beloved wife, Julieta, with whom he shared a life full of love since their marriage in May 1978 until she passed.

Born on August 29, 1954, in Manila, Philippines, Reynaldo had dreams of becoming a doctor, but financial hardships led him down a different path. He pursued his studies at Far Eastern University and Central Colleges of the Philippines, graduating with a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1975. A hardworking and skilled professional, he worked as a Refrigeration Engineer in Saudi Arabia before returning to the Philippines to manage a tricycle business and care for his children. In 1993, he courageously moved to Canada to reunite with his parents and siblings, hoping for better opportunities for his family. A man of great determination, he was never afraid to take risks, test boundaries, and lend a helping hand to those in need. His charm, kindness, and generosity made him well-loved by many.

Rey will always be remembered as a caring and loving father, grandfather, partner, brother, and friend. His spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. A Celebration of his Life will be held at Country Hills Crematorium & Funeral Services, 11995 16 Street NE on Friday, February 7, 2025 from 6pm to 9pm. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Mark Roman Catholic Church, 5552 Madigan Dr. NE on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at 11am. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Canadian Cancer Society.

Rest in peace, Rey. You will be forever loved and never forgotten.
