Rory Hansen Mathiesen passed away unexpectedly and tragically on
December 30th, 2024, leaving a profound void in the hearts of his
family and friends.
He was a loving husband, an amazing father, an incredible friend,
and the best son and brother you could imagine.
He was such a kind-hearted soul and just a one of a kind human being that cannot be truly described.
Rory leaves behind his beloved wife, Tanis, of 16 years along with
their two precious daughters Camy (age 8) and Ava (age 4).
He is also survived by his parents, Don and Patty,
as well as his brother, Steve, and wife, Amber,
and his nieces, Alyvia and Jayla.
When you remember Rory, we ask that you remember how he lived
and not how he died so suddenly. He would want us to continue:
• Laughing at his jokes, just as he always brought a smile to our faces,
• Keep loving and caring for his two wonderful daughters, who carry
so much of him in their hearts and spirits,
• Hold close the lessons he taught us as a coach and mentor, guiding so
many in both his personal and professional life,
• Remember his bigger than life personality and all his wild antics that
made him unlike anyone else,
• The unique way he made everyone feel special,
• And most importantly, living each day to the fullest and telling the
people you love that you love them, cause you never know when you
may never get that chance again.
We love and miss you, Rory. There will never be another one to walk the
earth exactly like you.
They say the brightest stars die the quickest but are the most beautiful.
Rory shone so brightly on all of us.

There are no words that we can say to ease anyone’s pain for the loss of their son, to Patty & Don, brother to Steve &Trish, husband to Tanis, father to beautiful Camy & Ava, uncle to Alyvia, Jayla, Lucas & Heidi, cousin & friend. Our hearts break for his family but it is great to see the overwhelming support they have helping them manoeuvre through this difficult time. I know Rory was a charismatic, sweet & kind kid and man. Cherish the years & memories you got to share with him and share these stories going forward to keep his memory alive especially for his beautiful daughters. Our prayers and thoughts are with you always. Love you.
