Samuel Kobley of Calgary Aberta passed away suddenly on July 31, 2021 at the age of 62 years old. He was surrounded by friends and family at the time of his passing; a testimony of God’s peace and grace. Sam lived in Mitchener Center in Red Deer until his early teens and then became part of the High/Hein family of Castor, Alberta. He is survived by his mother Rose High, sisters, Mary (Perry Holden), Victoria (Wes Goudy), Barb Milner, Cindy Hein, Chris (Lennard McFarland), brothers Dan (Patricia Hein), Vern (Peggy Hein) and Ted High, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and their families. Sam was predeceased by his father, George High, brother Norman High as well as niece and nephew, Ann and Matthew Hein. Sam had a very close circle of friends in Calgary and they were family to him. Sam made an impact on everyone he met, as he shared his faith in Jesus boldly and took the time to mentor family and friends in faith and encourage us to go deeper in God’s word. Sam had an infectious laugh, was big hearted and loved trying new cuisines and was a terrific chef. Life was not dull when Sam was your friend! He was quick to help those in need and never judged anyone or held any offence, he always looked for the best in people around him. Sam always talked of seeing Jesus and when He was coming back. So now that he is with Jesus, he would want everyone to know that God so loved the world, that he gave us His only Son Jesus, that whoever believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life. (John 3:16).
A Funeral Service will take place in Castor, AB on August 12 at 1:30 pm at the Evangelical Missionary Church.

Dear Rose and Family. Wow, this is one of those God moments where we can only say ‘ Oh Sam, God was using you so deeply…but WOW now you are face to face with the One who loved you so deeply.” God’s comfort to all of you and may the precious memories of Sammy humbling walking with God bring you much joy, much perseverance and much hope. Love to all.
Bro Sam, you’ll be greatly missed! My family and I were really shocked at your sudden departure. We strongly believe you are not dead but sleeping at the bosom of Christ. Till we meet again at the feet of Jesus. Amen ?
I remember having lunch with you in my house a week or so before your sudden demise. We have learnt to take solace in God for He only knows best. We are not ignorant either for you have gone to be with the Lord. Rest on brother. We love you but God loves you more. You are a winner. You fought and you won.
Dear High/Hein family. I am saddened to hear about Sam’s passing. I remember him well from time spent at youth events. His light shone brightly for our Lord and he boldly shared his faith as you said. Now he is rejoicing in Heaven and that makes my heart happy for him. Thinking of you and praying that the God of all comfort will be near to each of you.

To the High/Hein family:
So sorry for your loss. You were such a good family to Sam. He had such an infectious personality, he truly was a lover of Jesus. You will see him again one day.
Our deepest condolences on behalf of the Knox family. Sam was a close friend on my brother Michael; over the last 30 some years Sam joined Michael when visiting our family in High River; as well as to our parent’s farm back in Saskatchewan. We found too, that life was not dull when Sam was around!! We all will miss his laughter and large heart.
