She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, and great-grandmother.
Swaran Kaur Dhadda, affectionately known as “Bibi” to her family and loved ones, was a woman of strength, deep devotion, and unwavering love. Born to Bishan Singh Shah and Dhanti Kaur, Swaran was one of four sisters and grew up in a home grounded in family and love. She was predeceased by her beloved sisters Sibho Kaur, Udham Kaur, and Banso Kaur.
For nearly 75 years, she was the devoted wife of Amrik Singh Dhadda. Together, they raised six children: Ram Tirath (Avtar), Tirath (Jaswinder Dhillon), Dalip (Amarjit), Harpal (Gurdish), Kulwinder (Jasbir Sohi), and Bahadur (Sarbjit).
In 1988, Bibi immigrated to Canada, settling in Calgary. Her journey wasn’t for her own comfort, it was driven by a deep desire to see her children succeed and her family thrive. She devoted her life to caring for her children, grandchildren, and later great-grandchildren, ensuring that they were nurtured, supported, and set up for a better life.
Bibi leaves behind a powerful legacy of love and selflessness. She was the proud grandmother of 16 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren, each of whom carries a part of her spirit, her strength, kindness, and resilience.
Her memory will live on in the lives she shaped, the values she passed down, and the countless hearts she touched.
She will be dearly missed and forever remembered.
