It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Ursula Anita Bernhauser (Everingham) who departed this world in her home on January 4, 2025 at the age of 76 years.
We invite you to reflect on your memories of her and remember the strong independent woman with a beautiful, steadfast and dynamic personality that shone so brightly.
Born in Nurnberg, Germany on April 23, 1948, to Karoline Franziska Bernhauser and Schlosser Wensel Bernhauser, Ursula grew up a spirited child alongside her older sister, Linde. She trained to be a hairstylist before emigrating to Canada in 1968 at the age of 20 where she continued developing her talent and began a family in Sarnia, Ontario. She later pursued a career in health care as a residential home care aide. Lending her genuine support and attention to those in need no matter their age or state. She will be remembered for her contributions with the Moose Lodge, her love of bowling and support as a union steward of S.E.I.U Local 220.
Ursula will be fondly remembered by her children being happiest when cooking to music. She took great pride working in her gardens; her affection of small dogs and cats; she loved to dance and would cry laughing while watching the comedic works of Peter Sellers or The Carol Burnett Show.
She revelled in every opportunity to return to her beloved homeland of Germany where she longed to visit family and friends. She maintained a strong sense of German pride through all of her years and nurtured that identity in her children.
Ursula is proudly survived by her sons and daughter, Michael, Steven and Christine. As well as her grandchildren Millie, Oliver, Jessica, Cameron, Jaime and Jordan. All whom she loved dearly and took great pride in no matter the distance between them.
Ursula is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, their families and friends whom all reside in Germany.
God Speed, Uschi ♥️
