With profound sadness we announce the passing of our wonderful mother Vivien, on August 25, 2021. Born in Cabri Saskatchewan in 1939, Vivien Louise Ourom (Radtke) was the youngest child of Ida and Ivar Ourom – she grew up in nearby Battrum Saskatchewan and she truly enjoyed telling tales about what life was like growing up in a tiny prairie town.
She attended high school in Vancouver, Saskatoon and Ottawa, eventually residing in Kingston ON and finally Calgary AB. Vivien loved to cook (her flapper pie was legendary), was ridiculously competitive at card and board games and was highly skilled in knitting and sewing, winning many prize ribbons at various fall fairs and Stampede competitions over the years. Vivien also loved dancing & music although she would freely admit that she was possibly the world’s worst singer. Predeceased by daughter Susanne. Our Gandy will always be missed by her daughter Siri McCormick (Peter McCormick), son Christian Radtke (Sophia Tsakiri-Radtke), grandchildren Edward McCormick (Amanda Yeoman) and Elizabeth Radtke (Samantha Halpin).
A remembrance for Vivien will be held on Friday October 8 2021, at 2pm at St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fosterton SK. Donations in memory of Vivien may be made to: St. John’s Lutheran Church and Cemetery (Box 351, Cabri, SK, S0N 0J0).

Please allow Burke and I to offer our most sincere condolences for the passing of your Mum. It has been an honour to be her neighbour for the past 30 years.
I had the distinct pleasure of being invited into her home, where she showed me her many awards and ribbons that she had received for her fibre art. I always felt a little guilty for “ratting” her out to Siri after hearing what sounded like her falling in the night.
There are no right words to say at this time, but please know that Burke and I are thinking of you and your family.
