Yvonne, a longtime resident of Cochrane, passed away peacefully at the Rockyview Hospital in Calgary, AB on October 1, 2019.
She was born on February 18, 1939 in McLennan, AB to Emile and Pauline Perry where she was raised with her nine brothers and sisters.
Yvonne worked at the Sacred Heart Hospital in McLennan before moving to Edmonton to work at the General Hospital.
While attending her brother Ray’s wedding in December 1958, Yvonne met Ray’s best man, Henry, who would become her husband the following December 1959. They soon had five children and settled in Cochrane in 1969. She went on to own and manage a delishop in Cochrane for about eight years. She then went to work at Big Hill Lodge and after retiring went to work at We Care for the next ten years.
Yvonne leaves behind her husband of 60 years, Henry, and their five children: Brian (Sue), Linda; children Nicholas & Thomas (Brianna), Jane; children Jenny (Karl) & Steven, Brenda; children Kerry (Gabriella) & Taryn, Donna; children Kelsey (Manuel) & Nicole and 2 great grandchildren Selene and Dom.
She was predeceased by her parents Emile and Pauline Perry, sister Denise Keese, brother Remi, sister in law Carol Perry, brothers in law Gilbert Gauthier and Fernand Gagnon, son in law David Gray, and nephews Marcel Gauthier, Remi Gauthier and Daniel Gauthier.

She was a life member of the Cochrane Lioness Club.
Yvonne was an avid horseshoe player and was a life member of the Alberta Horseshoe Pitchers Association where she and Henry were inducted into the Alberta Horseshoe Hall of Fame in 2013.
She was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 15, where she enjoyed playing cards and socializing with friends. She also enjoyed curling for many years at the Cochrane Curling Club and playing the slots.
Above all of the activities, though, she cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren, doing crafts, playing cards or just visiting.
A Celebration of Life will be held at the Cochrane Legion (114 Fifth Ave, Cochrane, AB) on Ocotber 12, 2019, from 1pm – 5pm with a Service at 2pm.

My deepest and heartfelt sympathy to Henry and family. Yvonne was a special lady. She was a true and loyal friend. She was kind, caring , loving, courageous, strong and enjoyed sharing her talents with her friends. Yvonne was also very mischievous. When I. Saw that sparkle in her eyes- I knew we were in for a adventurous evening!!!! She will be dearly missed but never forgotten. Rest In Peace.
