    April 22, 1970 – Thunder Bay, Ontario
    September 17, 2024 – Calgary, Alberta

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of an extraordinary, compassionate, and inspiring soul, Jenn McGlashan, on September 17 th , 2024 at the age of 54.

Jenn has lived all across Canada, from Thunder Bay to Victoria and throughout Alberta, and has made a huge difference in the lives of everyone who met her. She lit up every room she came into with her infectious laughter and unshakable positivity. Jenn loved people, and that love shone through the time she spent with others. Whether it was at work, with friends, or with her family, she made you feel like the most important person in the world when she talked to you. It was never a secret how much she loved her people, and she will be missed by everyone who looked forward to her messages every day.

Jenn’s giving and compassionate heart made her lifelong career in nonprofit organizations a perfect fit. From the moment she first moved to Calgary in 2000, she touched the lives of so many through her work. She was truly, deeply devoted to helping people, and worked tirelessly towards that goal. Jenn’s goodness was inspiring, making everyone who knew her want to live up to her extraordinary example.

There was no one on Earth quite like Jenn. She was a hopeless romantic, an endless source of laughter, and the most organized person any of us have ever met. She loved horror movies, reality TV, and the Olympics, but above all, she loved her family.

Jenny was unfailingly loyal and devoted to her family. Nothing was ever left unsaid, both through her words and through her actions. The love she had for us radiated out of her, and we loved her just the same. She is woven into the fabric of all of our traditions; we will never have a Christmas, Thanksgiving, or family game day without thinking of her.

Jenn lives on in the hearts of her loving partner, Dennis “Den” Neiser, her furry son, Gus, her stepchildren, Savanna “Van” and Samantha “Sam” Neiser, her Dad, Bruce McGlashan (Melinda), her sister and best friend, Cindy McGlashan-Beaucage (Darcey), her niece, Maria “Boobearian” McGlashan, her fuzzy niece, Stella, Linda and the Wild West Team at Second Harvest, the Bully Squad, and countless family members and friends.

Jenn was welcomed into heaven by her Mom, Angie McGlashan, her Nonna, Maria Russo, Chancey Pants, Kuma “Kumie”, and Mr. Clyde.

    Benjamin “Ben” Nehamiah Jackson

It is with a heavy heart to announce that Benjamin Jackson has passed, on Saturday Sept 7 th, 2024. After a grueling battle with cancer, he was too tired to fight any longer.

A warrior unlike any other has left our midst.
Ben has laid down his sword and shield,
his fight has come to an end.
He had slain his last dragon,
    And heroically given his all,
He was well loved, and will be missed by us all.
But do not mourn his passing,
After a rest to regain his strength,
    He will move onward,
Heading across the galaxy to his next adventure.
We will find him again, when we are ready.
He was surrounded by family, and friends, and passed peacefully.
Ben was a light in many of our lives, and he will be remembered by us all.

  • Albert Bowditch

    Albert Bowditch

It is with the utmost sadness to say that the world lost an extraordinary, generous, kindhearted man on August 30, 2024 when he was untimely called up to heaven. George “Albert” Bowditch was born in Edmonton, Alberta in 1948. The second oldest son to Janet and George Bowditch. Albert, his older brother Michael, younger brother Raymond, and sister Karen attended school in Ardrossan, Alberta. Here in Albert’s youth is where he found his love of sports, playing both hockey and fastball.

Albert met his soul mate Sharon, at a fast pitch tournament in Edmonton. Immediately after their initial meeting, including a few first dances, they both knew that this could be something incredibly special, and they were right. Al and Sharon were married in 1973. They were incredibly blessed to have recently celebrated their 51st anniversary.

Al was a devoted father to Tracey and Sandra. Fast pitch became a family sport and could always be found with them on the baseball diamond, hitting balls to them to practice their fielding, catching for them as they practiced their pitching, and pitching to them, or at them! He was always a coach to one or both of their teams, and forever cheering on absolutely everyone. Al was an avid golfer as well, and he shared his prowess and adoration for the game with his daughters. He was very proud when both his girls surpassed his skill. Although he still has had more hole in one’s than both of his girls combined!

Al worked the majority of his career in the oil and gas industry. He quickly assumed increasing responsibility within the oil companies he helped grow. He enjoyed working with his customers to guide them to achieving the most for their businesses.

As Al and Sharon entered their retirement years, they spent a lot of their time at Country Hills Golf & Country Club and began spending their winters in Arizona. They built a wonderful community of friends through their love of golf.

Al considered his greatest accomplishment to be his family. Sandra and Karlo reside in Calgary and were able to have many home cooked meals together, accompanied by good humour, chats about shared interests and the occasional golf game thrown in the mix. Al and Sharon often spent time in the U.S.A. with Tracey and Bob, playing many cribbage and board games together. Al cherished his time with his grandchildren Ashley, Jacob, and Amanda, also his great granddaughter Ezra. Although they were separated by distance, Al made it a priority to attend many sporting events and school activities. He was always encouraging his daughters and grandchildren, sharing his life advice gained through his experiences.

As one of the last raggedy-assed kids from Clover Bar Village, Al always remembered his roots. Al Bowditch, you did good and we miss you so much.
